Coca-Cola Freestyle & SURGE
During my time at 360i, I got to spend a little time in Atlanta teaching a soda robot about the internet. Yes, you read that right.
One of our first tasks in the Content Lab was waking up the stagnant Coca-Cola Freestyle accounts with a whole new tone of voice. This meant sass, snark, and a little bit of robo-humor.
During this time, we were tasked with re-launching the SURGE account, to celebrate that the iconic green soda was returning, exclusively at Burger King. To me, and many others, SURGE soda brings back memories of listening to pop-punk music way too loud in the high school parking lot.
I parlayed this insight into a ska-centric campaign that played on 90s tropes and got people talking about SURGE and heading into their local BK to get in on the fun. The AV Club even wrote about it.
